No sweat! Installing a pleated lampshade is actually super simple. We're gonna walk you through it, step-by-step. Let's get to it!
First, determine the type of fixing method your light fixture uses.
Before delving deeper, the first thing you need to figure out is the fixing method your lampshade uses. You'll typically encounter one of the following two types:

Screw-on fixing: The light fixture has a small decorative screw at the top. By tightening the nut and connecting it to the lamp holder, the pleated lampshade is snapped/inserted into the lamp holder, sandwiched between the lamp holder and the metal component. This metal component is itself part of the light fixture's design and usually matches the overall style, serving both aesthetic and structural purposes.

Support frame insertion fixing: This method is usually simpler in design, with no extra decorative fixing parts at the top. It's simply fixed by snapping/inserting into the ring-shaped lamp holder. This connection method makes the lampshade look lighter, complementing the natural and minimalist style of the wooden lamp holder.
Alright, Let's Get That Shade On!
Once you've decided on how to secure the lampshade, simply follow these easy steps. We'll use the second method as an example (this is the classic setup for most of our table and floor lamps in Pinlighting!).

Step 1. Remove the pleated lampshade and lamp holder from the package beforehand, and check the pleated lampshade for any damage. Then, all you need is your skillful hands and a pair of gloves (to protect your hands from injury). No other complicated tools are needed at all!
Step 2. Gently slide the folded pleated lampshade (for ease of transport, the lampshade is folded by default) from the inside of the lamp holder along the narrow opening of the lamp holder, inserting all the openings of the pleated lampshade into the fixing slots of the lamp holder.
💡 Tips: You can fix several pleats at a time, but remember to go slowly!
Step 3. After ensuring that each pleat is neatly inserted into the lamp holder, place the wide opening of the lamp holder on a flat tabletop with the opening of the pleated lampshade facing upwards, and then gently press the pleated lampshade downwards with both hands.
Step 4. After completing the above steps, you can carefully check the lampshade from different angles: it should hang evenly on the lamp holder, and the pleats should be straight and appropriately spaced. If you find any deformation or uneven pleats, you can gently rotate or lift the edges to adjust.
