📦 What’s in the Box?
Before you start, make sure you have everything laid out. Your Miyam Kylo package should include:
Fan motor assembly / Three wooden blades / Mounting bracket and canopy / LED light kit and Acrylic shade / Remote control or receiver / Hardware pack (screws, wire nuts, etc.)
✅ Step-by-Step Installation
🛑 Safety First: Before You Start
Before you grab a ladder or a screwdriver, do the most important thing: Turn off the power.
Go to your home’s main circuit breaker panel and flip the switch for the room you are working in. Never rely solely on the wall switch. Use a voltage tester on the existing fixture wires to confirm the power is completely off before touching anything.
1. Preparation and Motor Wiring
Begin by preparing the fan motor. You'll need to connect the internal wiring before mounting.
Connect the Receiver: This is the step that makes most DIYers nervous, but it’s usually just matching colors. Identify the wires coming from the top of the motor and connect them to the corresponding color wires on the receiver unit.
2. Mounting the Ceiling Bracket
Secure the mounting bracket to the ceiling junction box using the provided screws. Make sure it's firmly attached and can support the weight of the fan.
3. Installing the Fan Motor
Lift the fan motor assembly up to the mounting bracket.
Align the motor with the bracket and secure it in place with the mounting screws. (This part is easier if you have a friend to help hold the motor while you screw it in.)
Connect Receiver to Fan: Slide the black remote control receiver into the space located above the mounting bracket. Plug the wire harness from the fan motor directly into the matching harness. Organize the exposed wiring harness and hide it between the motor and the mounting bracket.
Attach the motor component housing to the assembly, align the holes, and snap it into place, the motor part is now installed.
4. Attaching the Wooden Blades
Align each wooden blade with the holes on the motor housing. Use a screwdriver to securely fasten each blade. Make sure all screws are tightened equally to avoid any wobbling later on.
Please Note: When installing the blades, please ensure gaskets are properly added and secured. This prevents damage to the motor’s copper wiring and ensures stable operation.
5. Installing the LED Light Kit
Secure the light kit to the bottom of the motor housing with the provided screws. Gently snap the LED light board into place. Insert the wires from the ceiling fan motor into the connector on the LED light panel.
6. Finishing Touches
Finally, attach the acrylic shade to the light kit and tighten clockwise.
7. Final Check
Double-check that all screws on the blades and mounting hardware are tight.
Go back to your breaker panel and turn the power back on.
Use your remote to test the fan speeds and the dimmable light. If it spins smoothly and lights up, you’re done! Enjoy the comfort and style of your new Miyam Kylo.
